Are Santander going to take over all our high street banks etc. I worry what they did to the British in Spain.?

Author: admin  //  Category: properties spain

I walked down our local high street in Gloucester and saw queues of people at banks etc that Santander had taken over. Are the British people gullible, look at what happeed to our property in spain.

From what I understand British Banks are quite capable of making a mess of their own Industry, they don’t need any outside help to do it. Furthermore, Santander has not risen to being one of the largest banks in the world by making risky decisions based on mortgages and offering easy credit on mortgages.

We live in strange times-nobody really trusts anything anymore. The stocks and shares market has always run by greed or fear, now it has spread to banking. It was Spanish law that saved Santander from all of those toxic derivatives, now they have bought cheap and they are king of the UK bullring. Beware of the bears!

No, the British people are not gullible. The British people are natural born risk takers and will take a chance on almost anything, including buying a property in Spain on land which in Spanish Law is classified as ‘Rustic’ - meaning that it’s country (rural) and you cannot build on it. Look at it like this. Anyone who is already 65+ can take such a risk, knowing that possibly in 10+ years they might be dead anyway. Hopefully it should take that long for the Spanish authorities to sort out the mess. Problem is it took them much less time and now the whole plan is sunk - shame.

The other thing which people in the so called Free World simply do not understand is that the British people believe in FREE TRADE - this does not seem to be the case abroad, in such as France and Germany where they protect their so called free enterprise companies from take over by shareholders from another castle (company). You either have free trade or you do not. The only country in the world which has free trade is UK - the English invented capitalism in the middle ages and anyone - even a poor man, has the right to buy and sell shares and risk his fortune and hope to make a killing.

In Spain for centuries this was not the case. Instead, the Spanish king kept everything from the New World to himself - look at the mess which is South America.

Meanwhile up there in the privateer free market enterprise area of North America, they just go on fro strength to strength - even including the present wobble problem.

I’m still banking with a dodgy bank. Why, because they hardly make any bank charges that’s why and they’re always available on the blower and I don’t even have to bother with cash any more.
